Losing weight becomes a greater challenge each passing day. We ignore the remarks of people and calls of our mind to maintain it before it’s too late. But, at the end of the day, we all desire to gain that confidence and thrill back that we enjoyed during our slim days.
Healthy habits, a healthy diet, and a daily workout are a difficult-to-follow routine. Even if the results are amazing, the daily challenge is huge. Sometimes, we are afraid of getting zero results so we never initiate the effort.
You can get your personal motivator and trainer at home. He’s cute, fluffy and hard-to-deny coach. He is your best friend. He is your dog whom you have made lazy along with you. Why not let him take the lead and begin again together. Dogs are a great motivation and inspiration to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Here are 5 ways your dog will help you lose weight without you even knowing it:
-
Coach and Motivator:
Dogs are great motivators and coach for you to work out, go out for walks and join yoga sessions. I personally enjoy listening to music during the walk and I enjoy a silent companion too. My pooch is a perfect fit to do the job. I feel the warmth of companionship due to his presence beside me. He jogs and walks with me without distracting my thoughts. I take pleasure in silently watching him explore the surroundings as I have a loose stretchable leash.
A few years back, I really wanted to make a routine of waking up at 6 am to go for a morning walk. However, a hectic routine and comfort of a bed made me lazy. I came up with the idea to develop Leo’s routine to come with me. Now, he never forgets to wake me up, motivate me, and stand there like a stone until I get up. Yes, I cannot go back to sleep even for 5 minutes again. I think I should give him a new name “coach”.
-
Healthy Diet:
We all love our dogs and desire for the longevity of their lives. So, It’s imperative for us to provide them with a healthy diet besides a healthy routine. There are raw foods for dogs that prevent cancer, heart problems, diabetes, etc. They also work to improve their immune system and boost the health of a dog’s coat and hair.
When we opt for a healthy homemade diet for our pooch’s health, we will definitely be making small shifts in our diet too. As the dog‘s health improves after a healthy diet, we can get ample amount of motivation to bring a change in our diets as well. After all, who doesn’t know that 80% diet and 20% workout matters for weight loss?
-
Doga Partner:
If you are a fan of yoga to improve your mental functions and strengthen your body muscles, go for it. It seems really boring to regularly visit the yoga classes. Dogs can help you here too. Look out for doga classes being held around the area.
Take your pooch with you for yoga, meet other dog owners, connect with people, and enjoy the funny poses your pooch will make each day. Just make it an exceptional first experience for the dog. Your dog will simply jump up in excitement after hearing the word ‘doga’ again. His excitement is a huge motivation!
Another plus point is that many behavioral issues of the dog shall be resolved. So, lose weight in a fun way and enjoy the company of a well-behaved dog all day long.
Who knows he might find some girlfriends at the doga session? Just kidding! But yes, he will make some good friends there.
-
Daily Walk:
Every dog breed has an individual energy level. We have to help them exhaust those pent-up energies each day. Take the pooch for a walk and enjoy your favorite music along the way. You can have a positive self-talk and ‘ME’ time during the daily walk.
It’ll help you lose some extra calories without making an extra effort. The daily walk helps you maintain your weight to a normal range.
-
Playtime, Workout and Jogging Partner:
Your dog can also motivate you to play hide and seek, fetch the ball and other interesting games with him. You may command him to catch you as you run around the yard.
He will help you out with workout by motivating you to get up every time you lie down in exhaustion. He only needs a bit of training and he wouldn’t let you sit again until the time is over.
